    This is the first semi-annual report of activities conducted between July 2014 and December 2014 in eastern and southern Africa under SIMLESA phase 2 Program. The first objective of the program is to enhance the understanding of CA-based intensification options for maize-legume production systems, value chains and impact pathways.

    This report is an outcome of activities conducted between July 2013 and December 2013 in eastern and southern Africa under SIMLESA Program. The first objective of the program is to characterize maize-legume production and input and output value chain systems and impact pathways, and identify broad systemic constraints and options for field testing. Under the reporting period various surveys were conducted which include surveys, typology, value chain and adoption monitoring. Value chain training was one of the key program components which were implemented in some countries.

  • SIMLESA Program Annual Report January 2010–December 2010

    The program is implemented by NARS in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique in collaboration with many partners. The program aims at increasing farm-level food security and productivity, in the context of climate risk and change, through the development of more resilient, profitable and sustainable farming systems.

  • SIMLESA Program Annual Report January 2010–June 2010: First

    Date: July 2, 2010

    Excellent progress has been made notably in terms of workplans and agreements signed with all partners except ASARECA and ARC/South Africa (for whom it is agreed that activities would commence in year 2) and the start up of field activities in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Queensland.
